Man convicted in assault on officer held in burglary, theft case

A 19-year-old Little Rock man who last year pleaded guilty to accusations he tried to run over a police officer with a stolen car has been arrested on burglary and theft charges, authorities said.

Arrest records show Henry Conley was arrested Wednesday in the 600 block of Beechwood Street after police found a stolen laptop in a car he was driving. According to the Little Rock Police Department report, Conley was questioned and confessed to a burglary in the 2500 block of West Capitol Avenue.

The document noted Little Rock District Judge Alice Lightle set Conley's bail at $1 million and he was listed as having that bail on a Pulaski County jail booking website. But in an initial appearance by video before Lightle on Friday morning, she set his bail at $50,000 and ordered him to wear a GPS ankle bracelet if he is released.

Two others who were in the same vehicle with Conley were also arrested. Steven Dickerson, 19, is facing the same charges as Conley: residential burglary, theft of property and theft by receiving. Jackie Fossette, 22, is charged only with theft by receiving.

Lightle on Friday also set bonds of $20,000 for Dickerson and $30,000 for Fossette and ordered both to wear an ankle monitor if released.

According to Pulaski County Circuit Court records, Conley entered a guilty plea last June to charges of aggravated assault, fleeing, theft by receiving, resisting arrest and possession of marijuana. Conley was accused of refusing an officer's order to get out of a stolen Chevy Impala, instead driving it toward the officer. The lawman dived out of the way, and Conley was caught after a brief chase.

Conley, who was days from turning 18 at the time of the October 2011 incident, was ordered to stand trial as an adult.

In June, guilty pleas were entered in exchange for a sentence of 3 years' probation, court costs, fines and $5,000 in restitution, court records show.

But officials moved to revoke the probation after Conley was arrested only eight days later on residential burglary and theft-of-property charges, according to the court records.

A hearing on the revocation and the June burglary and theft charges is set for next week.
