Child on bike hit by car in Little Rock

A child riding a bike was hit by a car Thursday morning in Little Rock.

It happened about 7:30 a.m. near the intersection of West 25th and Abigail streets.

The extent of the 11-year-old cyclist's injuries wasn't clear, but he was conscious as crews strapped him onto a stretcher and loaded him into an ambulance.

Police on the scene said they couldn't release details about what happened.

It appeared a Honda Accord was eastbound on 25th Street when it collided with the bike somewhere near Abigail. After the accident, the car was stopped just east of the intersection with the bike on the ground beside it and a sizable bump on its hood.
