— The Arkansas House has approved a bill that would let faculty and staff carry concealed handguns on college campuses.

Gov. Mike Beebe says he would probably sign it if the Legislature sends it to him.

The House sent the bill to the Senate on a 70-11 vote, with one member voting “present.” Republican Rep. Charlie Collins of Fayetteville amended the bill this week to include an opt-out-clause for public colleges and universities.

Beebe told reporters Friday that he’s more comfortable with the measure now that it contains an opt-out provision for all colleges. The bill had already included an opt-out provision for private schools.

The measure is among several aimed at loosening state gun laws that legislators are considering after Republicans won the House and Senate last year.

I guess we must meet every fresh mass murder with the conclusion that the US already home to 300 million firearms isn't saturated enough. What about the custodians, the cafeteria workers etc including fans attending the Hogs game to take care of a bad ref. call And so and so until the arms race is the preeminent logic of civilian life. Only then will the streets of Arkansas be safe.

I am acquainted with a large number of college students and not a single one seems to feel any safer. How nice that they have the new far right Arkansas legislature making them safer whether they like it or not. I wonder if the solons got any input on this matter from the people most affected....the students. Somehow, I doubt that they did.

Stupid waste of time. This bill started out to allow concealed carry permit holders to carry on campus. Then we got modified so only teachers and staff could do so. Then we got an all-encompassing opt-out. Tell me, what does this bill accomplish? Nothing! Charlie Collins wants to take credit for improving the concealed carry law, but completely wasted his time on this one. Even I would vote against this one.

No one ever wants to talk about the "silent" war that has been going on for over 2000 years, the war between freedom and power. The power for government to control the people, or freedom of the government for the people the less freedom that American citizens have equals the more power that the government has. But for the first time in the history of this planet, technology has turned the tables. Technology has given freedom fighters the opportunity for the first time EVER to mass communicate, expand our knowledge, mobilize, and to increase our ability to bring the corruption to an END by spreading the word and waking people up.

The Federal Reserve, the bank which makes American money, is not even owned by the American government. It was created in 1913, for government to fund endless wars and incase natural disasters. But instead, it created the great depression and is almost responsible for every major economic impact on this country. Now that we are off of the gold standard since the 70's, the government can borrow (raise the debt ceiling) as much money as it needs without the fear of gold limiting its spending power. This monopoly scheme the Federal Reserve, has been hidden in plain sight for 100 years. 99 percent of Americans have no clue what the Federal Reserve is, and It's sad. The Fed. Reserve has halted our society. With each unearned dollar that the Federal Reserve prints, inflation occurs. The cost of living, gas, food, etc. are all going up and its because we have printed so much unearned money to the point to which you see it today, on brink of dollar collapse.

I’m sorry for the long post, but the point that I am trying to make is that America's founding fathers gave people the freedom to live their own lives without government interference. Muskets, hand guns, rifles, sporting, self-protection, and hunting are NOT mentioned in the constitution or declaration of independence for a reason. The COMPLETE word for word of the Second Amendment is clearer than any other amendment, and that's because of its importance. Most people think the Second Amendment says, "The right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed" and that's it. But the full amendment reads, "A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed. The Second Amendment protects America from Foreign invasions, but most importantly it protects us from an over reaching government. The reason there is nothing about states having the ability to succeed is because the founding fathers knew that if we really wanted to succeed we wouldn't vote or ask. People think this kind of talk is "radical" or crazy, but I say if that's the case then that would that make the Declaration of Independence Radical document....
America is at a crossroads and sooner or later we need to realize this before it's too late to have a "peaceful" revolution. And I mean a clean restoration of the constitution, and holding the corrupt higher ups accountable for their actions. We need to think beyond the small individual problems, such as what this article entails, and start connecting the dots.........Our food, news, businesses’, education, movies, health care, insurance, and weather is all being manipulated to divide, destroy, and conquer America. After they own take our guns, then they can come in and "save" us from the disaster of the coming economic collapse. Take the guns from the good people and the criminals will rob, steal, and rape, causing riots until everyone is begging for the government to institute martial and get troops on the street. Prepare mentally because things will have to get worse before they get better. The winners always write history....1776
