— A Little Rock woman is expected to survive after being found shot twice in the leg early Wednesday at a local hotel where she was staying.

According to a Little Rock Police Department report, 33-year-old Casandra Jones was taken to St. Vincent Hospital after officers responded to the Acme Hotel, 3301 W. Roosevelt Road, and found her with two gunshot wounds to the upper left leg. It happened about 1 a.m.

A man in a different room at the hotel told investigators he spotted Jones lying on the side of the Roosevelt Road bridge near the State Fairgrounds before doubling back, checking on her and finding she was suffering from the gunshot wounds.

According to the report, the man said he then took Jones back to her room at the hotel and alerted her neighbors. Suspected drugs were later removed by police from the room where the man was located.

The report says a witness at the hotel told investigators that a man she believes to be the one who reported finding the woman was seen earlier in the night "stating he was going to 'take care' of Jones."

The report indicates police recovered the "jacket of one spent round," though it doesn't specify where it was found. A police spokesman said she didn't immediately have that information but would check with detectives.

No arrests have been made and the incident remains under investigation.
