Cedar Ridge wins 2A boys state title

The Cedar Ridge Timberwolves beat the East Poinsett County Warriors, 58-56, on Saturday afternoon to win the 2A boys state title.

The Warriors held a 32-24 halftime lead and led, 40-37, entering the final quarter.

Cedar Ridge, the No. 1 seed from the north, defeated England, Parkers Chapel and Riverside on its way to the state title game at Barton Coliseum. EPC, the No. 2 seed from the north, defeated Clarendon, Bearden and Junction City to earn a spot in Saturday's 2A title game.

Spencer Reaves of Cedar Ridge was named the game's most valuable player.
