Police identify boy killed in dog attack in White County

Police have identified the four-year-old boy that died from his injuries stemming from a dog attack Friday in White County.

The child was Levi Watson who lived with his mother Deborah Sizemore in Bradford, Chief Deputy Phillip Miller with the White County Sheriff's Department said in a statement Saturday.

Miller said the dogs' owner is Bradford resident Justin Corbit and that he is cooperating with police in the investigation. No charges have been filed at this time, he said.

The three dogs, which were pit bulls, are being held at the sheriff's department until the investigation is completed, Miller said.

"A determination of the disposition of the animals will be made after the completion of the investigation," he said in a statement.

Shortly before 3:30 p.m. Friday, police received a report about a small child that had been attacked by several dogs while visiting a Bradford residence with his mother.

Miller told Arkansas Online that Watson had "exited [the] house and [was] attacked by dogs," which were not on a leash. It was not immediately clear how the child left the home or how many of the three dogs were involved in attacking Watson.

The Bradford Fire Department and NorthStar EMS responded to the report and began treating Watson when they arrived for unspecified injuries, according to the news release.

The boy was taken by ambulance to the White County Medical Center in Searcy where he later died from his injuries, the release states.
