Police say a woman was shot in the leg while taking out her trash late Monday in Little Rock but she didn't realize until the next morning.
Lt. Sidney Allen said in an email that 24-year-old Lateako Bolden "heard a gunshot and thought nothing of it" while taking out the garbage after 11:30 p.m. at 3414 W. 14th St.
Bolden returned inside and went to bed, Allen wrote. She awakened to find blood in her bed, which prompted a trip to the hospital.
Police say an X-ray there showed she had a bullet in the back of her leg. The injury is described as not life-threatening.
Authorities don't have any description of the shooter.
