When do-it-yourself methods don’t clean out the mice in a week or two, it’s time to call a pest control service, pest control professional Christian Wilcox recommends. If the mice come back, it’s time for help. Chances are, they never left.

Once in, mice are difficult to evict. Ask the farmer’s wife: She cut off their tails with a carving knife. Did you ever see such a sight in your life? But she still had mice.
