LITTLE ROCK — Arkansas finance officials say higher-than-expected tax collections and lower refunds paid out helped boost the state's revenue in March.
The Department of Finance and Administration said Wednesday the state's net available general revenue last month totaled $386.5 million. That's $40 million above the same month last year and $43.3 million above forecast.
The state's revenue for the fiscal year that began July 1 is above forecast by $78.2 million.
The state's individual income, sales and corporate income tax collections beat the same month last year and the department's expectations. Individual income tax refunds paid out by the state were lower than March 2013 and below expectations.
