TRAFFIC ALERT: Restrictions set on I-40, I-30, I-430

The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department says restrictions are set next week on some major state highways, including Interstates 30, 430 and 40.

On I-430 in Little Rock, crews will reduce northbound traffic to a single lane Tuesday night through Wednesday morning while they replace a sign on the Shackleford Road overpass. The restriction will begin at 9 p.m. Tuesday and end at 5 a.m. Wednesday, weather-permitting.

On I-40 east and west of Russellville next week, crews will be inspecting pavement markers. This will result in "very short rolling lane closures" on the outside lanes of both sides of the interstate from the Johnson/Franklin county line to exit 125 in Faulkner County. The work will occur between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

On I-30 in Hot Spring County, crews will be inspecting the bridges over Rayburn Creek west of Glen Rose on Tuesday and Blakely Creek west of the Social Hill rest area Wednesday and Thursday. The outside westbound and outside eastbound lanes in those areas will be shut at different times between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. during the work.

And on U.S. 67 in Jacksonville, repairs to the Main Street bridge in Jacksonville will require closing the northbound inside lane 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Officials say the work is required because of a recent traffic accident.

Motorists are urged to use caution through all work zones.
