Traffic-stop search said to yield meth

A Hot Springs woman was arrested Sunday after authorities found drugs in her purse during a traffic stop, according to an arrest report.

Brandy Toribio, 28, was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a firearm by certain persons and simultaneous possession of drugs and guns, along with other drug and traffic offenses.

Pulaski County sheriff’s deputies stopped her at Interstate 30 East and Interstate 430 North for reportedly having an unreadable temporary tag, the report states. After checking her criminal history, deputies found she was wanted on several warrants out of different law-enforcement agencies.

Deputies searched her vehicle and found a gun, drugs and a fake identification card in her purse, the report states. She was taken to the Pulaski County jail, where she was awaiting a bail hearing.

LR man in hospital after shot hits arm

A man was shot in the arm Sunday, Little Rock police said.

Shortly after 6 p.m., the unidentified man was shot in the arm near West 13th and Brown streets. He was taken to UAMS Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Details of the shooting and suspect information weren’t immediately available.
