Mugshot: Maury E Wilson

Arrest date: January 27, 2014

A Little Rock man was arrested Monday after security at a local grocery store spotted him concealing steaks in his pants, authorities said.

Maury Wilson, 49, was arrested on a charge of theft of property.

According to a Little Rock police report, security at the Food Giant at 1701 S. Main St. observed Wilson "concealing ribeye steaks in his pants."

Police responded and arrested Wilson on the misdemeanor charge as well as outstanding warrants from Searcy and Sherwood, the report said.

He was no longer listed as an inmate at the Pulaski County jail Tuesday morning. A Monday court date is set.

This is that current state of our "criminal justice" system. You get caught stealing and you have outstanding warrants from 2 other cities and they just let you go????

Is that right? If so, I guess I now understand all the crime in Little Rock.

Do we really want to pay to house this guy for trying to steal steaks? Who knows what the other warrants were for.

Osama...man that's cleaver. Did you just come up with that? So witty and orginal! Thanks!

Food Giant is actually a really good place to get beef for cheap. They have a great meat counter. And they make their own sausage.

LevyRat, maybe he told them he was an FBI agent conducting a multi-city UNDERCOVER STEAK-OUT, and they bought it.

Typical stupid criminal; that's EXACTLY where you're most likely to get caught (the typical Kroger or Walmart meat counter has numerous hidden cameras). The sad part is he was apparently let out of jail despite his outstanding warrants...

Ha, Freudian meat slip is a good one. Can't beat the meat at Edward's!
