LEED benefits noted at Little Rock fire station

LITTLE ROCK— Little Rock Fire Chief Gregory Summers and other officials are to note the benefits of a fire station being certified as Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, or LEED.

A ceremony is scheduled for Monday morning at Fire Station No. 23 on Rahling Road in Little Rock.

The station opened a year ago as the first LEED-certified station in Arkansas. The program is part of the U.S. Green Building Council in which the building was constructed to save up to 40 percent on water and energy bills.
