Church World Service and other disaster relief organizations are holding a free "Recovery Tools and Training" event Tuesday for those dedicated to helping rebuild homes and lives in the aftermath of the April 27 tornado in central Arkansas.

The workshop aims to give an overview of long-term recovery, and shares lessons learned and best practices gathered from decades of experience in large and small disasters. Partners in providing the training include Arkansas Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster, Federal Emergency Management Agency, Lutheran Disaster Response, World Renew, Presbyterian Disaster Assistance and the United Methodist Committee on Relief.

The event will begin with a check-in at 8:30 a.m. and continue until 4:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 1610 Prince St., Conway. Pre-registration is not required but is strongly recommended. Those interested can call (866) 732-6121 or email pda.callcenter@pcusa.org.
