Harriman, Beebe's chief of staff, named to UA board

Gov. Mike Beebe has appointed his Chief of Staff Morril Harriman to the University of Arkansas board of trustees, according to a statement Monday from the governor's office.

Harriman, 63, of Little Rock replaces Sam Hilburn of North Little Rock. His term expires March 1, 2024.

Harriman, who holds undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, served as a state senator for 16 years before he became Beebe's chief of staff in 2007, according to the statement.
