Metropolitan Bank in Little Rock robbed Wednesday

Little Rock police are investigating after a Metropolitan Bank branch was robbed Wednesday afternoon, making it the fourth bank robbery the city has seen in three days.

Little Rock Police Department spokesman Lt. Sidney Allen said in an email that the branch at 2804 Kavanugh Blvd. was robbed shortly after 5 p.m. The suspect was described as a 6-foot-2, 180-pound black male in his 40s wearing all blue athletic clothing and a khaki-colored hat, Allen said.

According to Allen, the man displayed a note to the teller that demanded money. He then fled south from the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No injuries were reported.

It's the fourth bank robbery in Little Rock in three days. The Iberia Bank branch at 4900 W. Markham St. was robbed Monday, and no one has been arrested in relation to that case.

Derrick Galvin, 20, and Myron Thompson, 22, meanwhile, are accused in Tuesday's armed robbery of the U.S. Bank at 6320 W. Markham St., and Jahmal Wallace, 37, was arrested overnight in the unarmed holdup of First Security Bank at 10 Bass Pro Drive, which occurred only hours after the U.S. Bank robbery.
