Elise Siegler

Where I live: I live in Scott in my grandmother Virginia Alexander's home that she and her husband, Bob Alexander, built on Old River Lake. I live with my Labrador, Ginger, who loves fishing! She'll often dive in the water before I can pull the fish out -- she's been hooked a few times herself. I am so blessed to have such great neighbors, the volunteer fire chief on one side and a physician on the other.

Occupation: I am executive director of Alzheimer's Arkansas Programs and Services. I work with the best team of staff and volunteers. It seems everyone has a connection to Alzheimer's, whether it's through a family member or a friend, and everyone needs help in some form. It's a very rewarding and humbling job.

My favorite space: My favorite space is my den and fireplace.

Why: I can hear the fire crackle and watch the lake at the same time. I love watching the ducks, geese and pelicans land on the water. This space is the one my grandmother always "held court" in when family and friends were over, and I have many special memories of her with my boys when they were younger.

If I could make one change to improve this space, I would: Not change a thing, it looks almost exactly like it did when Grandmother was alive.
