Ken Hatfield has been named the recipient of the 2015 Amos Alonzo Stagg Award, presented by the American Football Coaches Association.

The former Arkansas player and coach is being honored as someone "whose services have been outstanding in the advancement of the best interests of football."

“When Grant Teaff called and told me I was the Amos Alonzo Stagg Award recipient, my first thought was shock,” Hatfield said. “My next thought was how honored I am to win such an award."

As a player for the Razorbacks, Hatfield led the country in punt return yards as a junior and senior. His 81-yard punt return touchdown against Texas in 1964 helped Arkansas to a 14-13 win and eventually a national championship.

As a coach, his .760 winning percentage is the highest in school history.

Hatfield also had stints at Air Force, Clemson and Rice, compiling a career record of 168-140-4, and won four conference titles.
