A woman's body was found early Wednesday along Interstate 40 near Palestine, Arkansas State Police said.

Police say the as-yet-unidentified body was found east of the rest area at mile marker 236 about 1 a.m. after a truck driver saw it on the outside lane.

Authorities said in a statement the body appears to be a white woman 25 to 35 years old with a small stature, blonde hair and a tattoo on her left arm with a rose and the names "Shannon," "Samantha," and "Deanna." She was wearing bluejean shorts and a lilac top, and police found Justin cowboy boots nearby.

The body was taken to the state Crime Laboratory to determine the cause and manner of death, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call investigators at (870) 633-1454.
