The Sky Terrace at the Clinton Presidential Center was the setting at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, for the marriage of Kristen Marie Vandaveer and Zachary Lee Nicholson. The Rev. Betsy Singleton Snyder of Trinity United Methodist Church officiated.

Parents of the bride are Jodie and John Riggin of Greenbrier and Melinda and Kevin Vandaveer of Baltimore. Her grandparents are Nadean and Paul Vandaveer of Phillipsburg, Mo., and Loyce and the late Herb Holmes of Conway.

The groom is the son of Ronda and Terry Nicholson of Quitman and Jill and Randy Starkey of Springdale. He is the grandson of Lynnette and the late Lane Collums and the late Cassie and Lawrence Nicholson, all of Bee Branch.

The altar was covered in ivory rose pedals and held two ivory columns topped with Boston ferns. Music was by harpist Elisabeth Chardonnet.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a fit-and-flare strapless gown. The bodice had a sweetheart neckline and a pleated taffeta waistband embellished with a beaded applique. She carried a bouquet of hydrangeas, ranunculus, freesia, stock and phlox, all in white.

Matron of honor was Kelsey Vandaveer Lawrence of Little Rock, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Bailey Badger of Little Rock; Sarah Peabody of Conway; Joceyln Riggin of Greenbrier, sister of the bride; and Danielle Walker of Vilonia. They wore champagne-colored strapless gowns with sweetheart necklines and carried bouquets of white hydrangeas, dusty miller and seeded eucalyptus.

Flower girls were Yvah Vandaveer of Baltimore, sister of the bride, and Krystina Riggin of Greenbrier, niece of the bride. Ring bearer was Peyton Riggin, also of Greenbrier, nephew of the bride.

Jacob Nicholson of Conway was his brother's best man. Groomsmen were Chris Helton, Clayton Middleton and Charles Clark, all of Conway; and Tommy Lawrence of Little Rock. Guests were seated by Cale Nicholson of Fayetteville; Corey Greene of Statesboro, Ga.; and Justin Vandaveer of Conway.

A reception in the center's restaurant followed the ceremony. The buffet held three large lanterns with cascading arrangements of white hydrangeas, white freesia, green dianthus and dusty miller.

The bride has bachelor's degrees in political science and mass communications from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She is a senior public relations account executive at Mangan Holcomb Partners.

The groom has a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. He is a brand ambassador for Marketing Werks and is pursuing a law degree.

After a wedding trip to Aruba, the couple will make their home in Little Rock.
