Brandon Allen one of 12 finalists for Manning Award as top QB

— Arkansas quarterback Brandon Allen is among an impressive list of finalists for the Manning Award, which is presented to college football's best quarterback.

Allen is one of 12 finalists that were announced Wednesday. Allen is one of three SEC quarterbacks on the list, along with Mississippi State's Dak Prescott and Ole Miss' Chad Kelly.

Other notable finalists include Oklahoma's Baker Mayfield, TCU's Trevone Boykin, Clemson's Deshaun Watson, Stanford's Kevin Hogan, Memphis' Paxton Lynch and Navy's Keenan Reynolds.

Allen has passed for 3,125 yards and an SEC-leading 29 touchdowns this season. He also has the SEC's top quarterback rating of 165.2.

The winner of the Manning Award will be announced Jan. 11.
