Police: 1 man arrested, another released in west Little Rock bank robbery

UPDATE

Police said Nicholas Maloney, 34, was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery and theft of property Saturday in connection with a robbery at Simmons Bank in west Little Rock.

A second man was detained and later released after investigators determined “he was not aware of what happened,” Little Rock Police Department spokesman Lt. Steven McClanahan said.

EARLIER

Police arrested two suspects in a Saturday bank robbery in west Little Rock.

Little Rock Police Department spokesman Lt. Steven McClanahan said officers responded Saturday afternoon to a robbery at Simmons Bank located in the Colony West shopping center at 10300 N. Rodney Parham Road.

Little Rock police tweeted at 1 p.m. that one suspect in the robbery was arrested without incident in front of Cal Ark Trucking on Interstate 30.

Later Saturday, McClanahan said that another suspect had been arrested.

Officers were called to the shopping center at 11:48 a.m. in response to a robbery, according to Little Rock police's online dispatch log.
