Jonesboro police are investigating a shooting that left one person dead and another injured Thursday morning.
Police responded to 401 2nd St. after receiving a report of a shooting shortly after 8 a.m., Jonesboro Police Department spokesman Paul Holmes said.
When officers arrived, they found a woman fatally shot, and a man injured by gunshots, Holmes said. The man was taken to St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, where he was reported to be in stable condition around 1:45 p.m.
Residents of the home told police that two armed men “came into the house and shot two people” before fleeing the scene, Holmes said.
Police do not have information on either of the two men, Holmes said.
