3 arrested in theft at Hope bookstore

Three women have been arrested on accusations of embezzling $280,000 from the campus bookstore at the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope, said Kim Tomlin, assistant police chief in Hope.

Brandy Harvel, 26, and Tammy Williams, 49, both of Hope, were arrested at 1 p.m. Jan. 21 in the theft from Texas Book Company Bookstore in Hope.

Heather Langston, 27, of Hope was arrested Jan. 16 on charges involving the bookstore, according to a news release from Tomlin.

The three women were employees of the bookstore.
