Missing Independence County woman found safe

Update:

An Independence County woman who was reported missing Wednesday has been found, authorities said on Thursday.

Independence County sheriff’s office Det. Shane Meyer said Wanda Evridge, 75, was found safe in Batesville on Thursday.

During the time she was missing, she drove through 5 states, Meyer said.

“She wanted to see the country and she didn’t have her cell phone.”

Authorities activated a Silver Alert on Wednesday after Evridge wasn't seen after she left a family member's home in Indiana on Sunday.

Authorities have activated a Silver Alert for a missing Independence County woman who was last seen in Indiana.

Wanda Evridge, 75, was last seen at 6 a.m. Sunday at 1426 W. North St. in Kokomo, Ind. where she was visiting family, Independence County sheriff’s office Det. Shane Meyer said.

Evridge wears glasses and is described as a 5-foot-6 white female with gray hair, blue eyes and weighing about 135 pounds.

She may be traveling in a four-door silver 2013 Kia Optima with Arkansas handicap tag 311299, officials said.
