Jo Ann Kaminsky

Where I live: Mount Sequoyah Neighborhood, Fayetteville

Occupation: I am a licensed counselor, art therapist, play therapist and artist puppeteer. I'm in private practice and am the board president of The Art Experience Inc., a local nonprofit center for art therapy and play therapy. The Art Experience offers free art therapy to teenagers and children with chronic illness. We also produce an annual puppet festival Puppets in the Park in October.

My favorite space is: my dining area in my house.

Why? It's really part of the big living area that blends into the kitchen. Our house is full of windows and our view is out to our spacious green, wild backyard where we watch wildlife. Always hoping that they don't get into our small garden patch. When family is home or friends are over, we spend lots of time gathered around the table, eating, talking or playing dominoes -- just having fun.

If I could make one change to improve this space, I would: Maybe update the windows but keep them just as big so we get to keep all the light.
