16 historic properties considered for register

Sixteen Arkansas properties in nine counties will be considered for nomination to the National Register of Historic Places in April, the Department of Arkansas Heritage said Wednesday.

The state Review Board of the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program will meet at 10 a.m. April 1, in Room 170 at 323 Center St. to consider the properties.

The Esso Standard Oil Service Station at 1600 W. Third St. in Little Rock is the only Pulaski County property to be considered, the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program said in a statement.

Other properties include:

• Kocourek and Son Hardware, 56 E. Front St. in Hazen.

• First Lutheran Church, 105 Village Road in Hot Springs.

• The West Church Street Historic District, Conway County.

• The Moose Addition Neighborhood Boundary Increase, Morrilton.

• Dr. John Grace House and Hospital, Belleville.

• Tyronza Methodist Episcopal Church South, Tyronza.

• Vest Cemetery, Izard County.

• Fayetteville Fire Department Station #1, 303 W. Center St. in Fayetteville

• Fayetteville Fire Department Fire Station #3, 1050 S. Happy Hollow Road in Fayetteville.

• David and Mary Margaret Durst House: 857 Fairview St. in Fayetteville

• The Billings-Cole House, Malvern.

• The Prairie Grove Airlight Outdoor Telephone Booth, Prairie Grove.

• The Historic Section of the Prairie Grove Cemetery, Prairie Grove.

• Wilson High School Gymnasium, Wilson.

• Wilson Community Clubhouse, Wilson.
