CONWAY — The city of Conway is being awarded a $200,000 grant from the Environmental Protection Agency for the cleanup of a contaminated site.
The funding announced Thursday is for hazardous waste assessment at what is known as a brownfield site. Brownfield sites are sites that are abandoned locations that are difficult to redevelop because of contamination.
Conway officials plan to use the funding at the former location of Conway Scrap Metal in hopes of redeveloping the location.
