The driver of a 2009 Ford Focus, 21-year-old Newton Lagrone of Monticello, was traveling east on Arkansas 35 about 3:29 p.m. Thursday when he crossed the centerline into the path of a westbound 2012 Toyota Yaris driven by 60-year-old Ouida F. Carter of Monticello, state police said.

According to the report, the Yaris and the Focus collided on their right front corners about 3 miles east of Monticello.
