Shot in calf caps holdup, man says

Police were investigating after a man was robbed and shot Friday in Little Rock.

Otis Hicks, 50, said he was at a carwash in the area of Colonel Glenn and John Barrow roads when two men approached him about noon, according to a police report. The men held Hicks at gunpoint and took $460 from him.

Hicks said he ran away and one of the robbers fired one shot at him, striking his right calf, according to the report. Hicks was taken to UAMS Medical Center for treatment. Police said his injuries were not life-threatening.

Officers searched the area of the shooting but couldn't determine a crime scene.

The robbers are both described as black.

The shooter was said to be between the ages of 21 and 23 with shoulder-length dreadlocks. He wore bluejeans and a red shirt.
