Body found in car Bono woman, 21

by Arkansas Democrat-Gazette | October 9, 2015 at 2:48 a.m.

JONESBORO -- Police don't suspect foul play in the death of a Bono woman found in her car at a Jonesboro shopping center parking lot, authorities said Thursday.

Bono Police Chief Michael Parrish found the body of Erin Dowdy, 21, in the back seat of her car Wednesday afternoon after checking Dowdy's credit card and finding that she made a purchase at a Wal-Mart Supercenter on Parker Road in west Jonesboro.

Family members had reported Dowdy missing since Sunday.

Surveillance video at the Wal-Mart store showed Dowdy pulled into the parking lot about 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Jonesboro Police Department spokesman Paul Holmes said. She left the lot later that afternoon, and Parrish found her body in an adjacent parking lot about 4 p.m. Wednesday, Holmes said.

Police continued to investigate the death Thursday, but Holmes said officers found no indication of foul play.

Authorities sent the body to the state Crime Laboratory for an autopsy, Holmes said.
