Three teenage suspects have been arrested in the killing of a 17-year-old Sylvan High School student whose body was found in a vehicle Thursday afternoon in Sherwood.

In a statement Friday night, the Sherwood Police Department identified the victim as Bryan Allen Thompson and said three teenage suspects were being charged as adults with capital murder and aggravated robbery.

The agency did not identify the youths, but said they are aged 14, 14 and 17 and were being held in the Pulaski County jail.

An online listing of inmates in the jail included three teens booked in Friday by the Sherwood Police Department on murder charges: 14-year-old Trevone Miller, 15-year-old Quincy Parker and 17-year-old Xavier Porter. All three youths remained in the facility Saturday morning with bail not yet set.

Thompson's body was found about 2:30 p.m. in a vehicle parked at the Bill Harmon Recreation Center in Sherwood. Police have not released a cause of death.

The death of a teenage boy whose body was found inside a parked car at a Sherwood recreation center is "suspicious" and is being investigated as a homicide, authorities said Friday.

The body was found in a car parked at the Bill Harmon Recreation Center around 2:30 p.m. Thursday, according to a news release from the Sherwood Police Department.

The 17-year-old was a student at Sylvan Hills High School, a spokesman for the Pulaski County Special School District said.

Police did not release any information about the manner of death. The body was sent to the Arkansas Crime Laboratory.

The boy's name was not released, pending the notification of family members.

All senseless killings must be stopped. Was this young man killed by blacks? What was the motive?

No national media, no Black Lives Matter looters, no Bernie Sanders protestors, No race baiters like Al Sharpton or racists like Nation of Islam. Just one murdered white kid and 3 black accused murderers. Nothing to be concerned about here folks. Oh and definitely no word from King Obama since the victim was white. His concern is for black criminals, as with Treyvon Martin and Michael Brown.

I feel like this is a HORRIBLE Crime and the 3 boys who killed the 17 year old young man should be punished accordingly. Prayers and condolences go out to his parents and family. However, this is not about race or Police brutality. That's what Trayvon & Michael stories were about. Im a BLACK woman & mother of 2 intelligent boys age 7 and 11 and I worry about there future based off their skin color and being judged. BUT This article is about a child being murdered by other children regardless of race. God Bless the victims family.

This is another case of parental abdication of responsibilities much more than it is about race. What about the white kid in Conway who had 2 of his white friends help him kill his grandparents? There are many more examples as well. While the kids who did this may have had some racial intention, we don't know that yet. What we know is that 14yr olds shouldn't be hanging out unsupervised with 17yr olds and perpetrating murder. There are too many parents - both black and white - who are unprepared, unable or unwilling to raise their children who then abdicate responsibility to grandparents, schools or streets. This is not purely a racial issue; it is societal.

Yall make me sick. A kid is dead. WTF does race have to do with it?

Nunya - No one is suggesting the individuals who did this - regardless of race, age or circumstance - shouldn't be held accountable and prosecuted. The discussion re race was prompted by comments from those who insist on making everything about race when perpetrators are black and victims are white.

And WTF there are those that denigrate the police when there are the relatively rare unjustified uses of force upon people of color, yet remain silent about the overwhelming black-on-black crime wave. Blacks commit far more crimes against their own than against other races. The same goes for white criminality against whites.

However, as there is no white lives matter movement, and as the left would soil their pants were one to exist, we have only the self aggrandizing movement where black lives matter apparently only when it comes to blaming cops, because almost all murders of blacks are in fact by other blacks.

Typical double standard: it is never about race when the victim is white and the
perpetrator(s) is black. Now when it is there reverse, it is about naturally about race. Remember Fergusson, Missouri or Travon Martin?
