Drugs, gun found in Pulaski County residence; parole skipper held

An Alexander man faces five felony charges after investigators found Xanax, a firearm and what they suspect to be methamphetamine in a residence, according to a sheriff's office arrest report.

Sherief Qassas, 28, was a parole absconder and was arrested Wednesday afternoon at 1600 Barrow Road, Apartment 121, according to the report.

Investigators also found drug paraphernalia in the residence, including a scale.

Qassas was charged with simultaneous possession of drugs and firearm, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance with purpose, possession of a firearm by certain person, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a schedule IV controlled substance with purpose.

He was listed on Pulaski County jail's inmate roster Thursday night.
