A body was found by a fisherman early Tuesday in the Arkansas River, hours after authorities responded to a report of a man drowning at another area of the river in central Arkansas, according to authorities.
Pulaski County sheriff’s office spokesman Carl Minden said additional information regarding the body would be released as it becomes available.
The Pulaski County sheriff’s office water patrol unit responded at the scene around 1 a.m. Tuesday to a low-water creek on the north side of the Arkansas River by the Interstate 430 bridge, according to a report.
The body has been sent to the state Crime Laboratory for identification, and an investigation is ongoing into a cause of death, the sheriff’s office said.
