The woman, described as 22 to 25 years old, was shot an unknown number of times at the Sonic Drive-In at 12214 Westhaven Drive in Little Rock, said Lt. Steve McClanahan, Police Department spokesman. Police did not disclose her condition or name.

McClanahan said three black men were seen leaving the scene in a silver 2005 Cadillac DeVille with a chrome front grille and paper tags. He said one man got out of the vehicle and then returned to the vehicle before the car drove off.

McClanahan said the Cadillac fled on Westhaven Drive heading toward Bowman Road.

An Arkansas State Police trooper, who was one of a group of troopers at a nearby restaurant when the shooting took place, was taken from the scene in a neck brace. McClanahan said the trooper's injuries were not related to the shooting.

Samantha Durham, 20, who works as a carhop at Sonic, had arrived at the restaurant shortly after the shooting and found that her friend and co-worker had been shot.

Durham, who was working earlier that day, said she saw her friend bleeding and gasping for air as medical personnel worked on her.

A witness at the scene who asked not to be identified said he heard three shots.
