Hot Springs police say one man has been arrested and another suspect identified after a confrontation in the city left five people shot and hurt Thursday evening.
Anthony James Camden, 23, of Hot Springs is being held on five counts of first-degree battery in connection with the shooting around 6:50 p.m. in the 300 block of Lacey Street, authorities said in a statement Friday.
Records show Camden remained at the Garland County jail as of Friday morning in lieu of $250,000 bond. He has a district court appearance set for Sept. 20.
Police later in the morning identified the second suspect as 20-year-old Stephon Harris, who is considered armed and dangerous. A warrant has been issued for his arrest, also on five counts of first-degree battery.
Harris is described by authorities as a black man who stands 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs 180 pounds.
In a statement, the Hot Springs Police Department identified four of the victims as Cameron Guyton, 20; Tyler Donaldson, 23; George Watson, 53; and Skie Guyton, 19. The fifth victim, a 17-year-old boy, was not named.
"It appears all the victims and suspects knew one another and were involved in a physical altercation just prior to shots being fired, with the five victims being shot," police said in the statement.
One of the victims was flown to a hospital in Little Rock, while the four other victims were treated at CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette previously reported.
A witness who asked to not be identified told the Sentinel-Record in Hot Springs that she heard what sounded like five gunshots shortly before 7 p.m. Thursday. She then ran to check on her children playing outside, who were both found to be OK.
