Michigan St. beats Nebraska in sixth consecutive blowout

NO. 3 MICHIGAN STATE 86, NEBRASKA 57

EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Nick Ward matched his season high with 22 points as part of a balanced offense that helped No. 3 Michigan State beat Nebraska 86-57 on Sunday.

The Spartans (7-1) have won six consecutive since losing to top-ranked Duke, beating each team by at least 18 points.

Jaren Jackson had 15 points, 10 rebounds and 3 blocks, Cassius Winston scored 16 points and had 7 assists, and Miles Bridges added 12 points for the Spartans.

The Cornhuskers (6-3) kept the game close for about 10 minutes, unlike No. 5 Notre Dame in an 81-63 loss Thursday night.

Michigan State took control with a 16-4 run that gave it a 34-16 lead with 5 minutes left in the first half and coasted to another lopsided victory.

Nebraska's only double-digit scorer was James Palmer, who had 15 points.

NO. 5 NOTRE DAME 71, ST. FRANCIS (BROOKLYN) 53

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Martinas Geben had 14 points and 10 rebounds to help No. 5 Notre Dame beat St. Francis (Brooklyn) despite ejections to All-American Bonzie Colson and Coach Mike Brey with 6:02 left.

Matt Farrell scored 12 points while T.J. Gibbs and D.J. Harvey had 10 each for the Fighting Irish (7-1). There were 32 personal fouls, in the game, 21 by St. Francis Brooklyn (2-6), which got 10 points each from Jalen Jordan, Rasheem Dunn and Darelle Porter.

NO. 13 NORTH CAROLINA 97, TULANE 73

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- Luke Maye had 22 points and 10 rebounds, and No. 13 North Carolina routed Tulane.

Kenny Williams and Joel Berry II finished with 13 points apiece to help the Tar Heels (8-1) win their third consecutive. Melvin Frazier scored 27 points and Cameron Reynolds finished with 18 for Tulane (6-2).

SETON HALL 79, NO. 17 LOUISVILLE 77

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Desi Rodriguez had a season-high 29 points, including an off-balance bank shot with 8 seconds remaining, to rally Seton Hall to an upset victory over No. 17 Louisville.

Quentin Snider's three-point attempt for the winner missed with 4 seconds left and Rodriguez got the rebound to spark an on-court celebration for Seton Hall (7-1). Deng Adel had 20 points and Quentin Snider 15 for Louisville (4-2).

CENTRAL FLORIDA 65, NO. 24 ALABAMA 62

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- A.J. Davis made the go-ahead free throw with 25 seconds remaining, then Terrell Allen stole the following Alabama possession and fired the ball to teammate Dayon Griffin for an easy layup that sealed Central Florida's upset of the No. 24 Crimson Tide.

Allen finished with 16 points and eight assists, Djordjije Mumin scored 11, and Griffin added 10 points and six rebounds for Central Florida (5-3). Donta Hall had 20 points and four blocks to lead Alabama (6-2).

TENNESSEE 77, GEORGIA TECH 70

ATLANTA -- Sophomore guard Lamonte Turner scored 24 points, including 3 of the team's 8 three-pointers, to lead Tennessee to a 77-70 victory over Georgia Tech at McCamish Pavilion.

Turner added three rebounds and two assists for the Volunteers (6-1), who won their third consecutive game. Georgia Tech (4-3) was led by Ben Lammers with 17 points and nine rebounds.

KANSAS STATE 84, VANDERBILT 79

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Xavier Sneed scored a career-high 21 points and Kansas State passed its first road test of the season with a victory at Vanderbilt.

Kamau Stokes added 20 points and Barry Brown 18 for Kansas State (7-1). Jeff Robertson had his fifth double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds, and Saben Lee added 19 points for Vanderbilt (3-5).

AUBURN 79, GEORGE MASON 63

AUBURN, Ala. -- Mustapha Heron scored 19 points to lead Auburn to a victory over George Mason.

Even without center Austin Wiley -- who has not played this season due to eligibility issues -- the Tigers (6-1) outrebounded the Patriots 45-30 and had 25 second-chance points. Jaire Grayer led George Mason (4-4) with 18 points on 6-of-15 shooting and grabbed 11 rebounds.
