Arkansas high school football coach resigns after 14 years with team

An Arkansas school's head football coach resigned Friday, the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported.

Bryan Ross has been a coach in the Siloam Springs district for 14 years, including nine seasons as head coach at the high school, district athletics director Kevin Downing told the newspaper. He's compiled a record of 30-64-1 over that span.

The Panthers have gone 1-6 in the 6A-West Conference in each of the last two seasons.

Downing told the Democrat-Gazette that Ross will remain a teacher in the district for the rest of the school year. A decision regarding the interim coach will reportedly be announced Monday.
