Tractor accident suspected in death of Arkansas woman

Authorities say they are investigating an Arkansas woman's death as an accident after she was found in a field, feet from a tractor, on Thursday afternoon.

In a Friday news release, the Baxter County sheriff’s office stated that emergency workers responded to a call about a tractor accident north of Mountain Home shortly before 4:30 p.m.

Authorities said Tamara Sexton, 49, was found lying in an open field at the end of Drake Lane, about 75 feet away from a Kubota L3830 tractor.

The caller told emergency workers that Sexton was operating the tractor when he left the residence earlier that day and that he began searching for her after he found the tractor up against a tree, according to the release.

He eventually found the woman in the field and called police, the sheriff’s office said.

Sexton was transported to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Authorities said her body is being sent to the state Crime Lab to confirm the cause of death.
