Prayer rally, talks on healing are set

The Victory Over Violence Prayer Rally will be held Monday at War Memorial Stadium, 1 Stadium Drive, Little Rock.

Gov. Asa Hutchinson and Little Rock pastors of different faiths will attend. For more information, contact Logan Bloom of Arkansas For Christ at logan@arkansasforchrist.org.

Also, the Interfaith Center will host "From Violence to Healing ... Together" an evening of dinner, dialogue, fellowship and music, at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 18 at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church, 4823 Woodlawn Drive in Little Rock.

Representatives from different faiths, including Judaism, Christianity and Islam, will discuss how their scripture has been used to promote violence, and the ways their faith traditions can create a process of healing in communities. After a meal and remarks by leaders of the Abrahamic faiths and music by the Interfaith Choir, attendees will have the opportunity to take part in facilitated table conversations.

Child care will be available, and children up to age 10 will be served pizza if registration is completed by Oct. 15. Older children are encouraged to join a table discussion. The event is free, but registration is required.

For more information, contact Sophia Said at theinterfaithcenter@gmail.com. Pulaski Heights members must register with the church.
