Arkansas man killed after train hits SUV

A 67-year-old man who didn't yield to an oncoming train was killed after his SUV was struck Tuesday morning, state police say.

According to a report from Arkansas State Police, John Aldridge of Wynne was driving south on Country Road 825 in Cross County shortly before 9:10 a.m.

The train reportedly hit the driver's side of the man’s 2003 Saturn VUE. His body was taken to the state Crime Lab.

Conditions at the time of the crash were reportedly clear and dry.

At least 388 people have died on Arkansas roads this year, according to preliminary crash data.
