Companies reporting quarterly earnings Thursday included:
American Airlines, a profit of $624 million, or $1.28 a share, down from $737 million, or $1.40 a share, a year ago. Revenue rose 3 percent to $10.88 billion. Shares fell $2.41 to close Thursday at $48.61.
Dunkin’ Brands Group, a profit of $52.2 million, or 57 cents a share down from $52.7 million, also 57 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue rose to $224.2 million from $207.1 million. Shares rose 24 cents to $55.63.
Southwest Airlines, a profit of $503 million, or 84 cents a share, up from $388 million, or 62 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue rose 3 percent to $5.27 billion. Shares fell $2.05 to close at $55.11.
Union Pacific, a profit of $1.19 billion, or $1.50 a share, up from $1.13 billion, or $1.36 a share, a year ago. Revenue was $5.41 billion. Shares rose $6.20 to close at $116.47.
