Mary Kate Fortson and Samuel Morris Vogel IV exchanged marriage vows at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, March 24, at Goodwin Manor. Officiating was Dan Sheaffer of Fellowship Bible Church.

Jaime and Grant Fortson of Little Rock are the parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of Mary and the late John Sundell and Gaylia and Gene Fortson, all of Little Rock.

The groom is the son of Margot and Tripp Vogel of Little Rock and the grandson of Betty and the late Ernest Sangster of Warren and Sam Vogel Jr. of Little Rock.

The ceremony site's large wooden cross was decorated with a garland of greenery, hydrangeas and roses. Music was by guitarist and vocalist Steven and Hannah Rutherford.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white A-line ballgown embellished with lace and carried a white and blush bouquet of hydrangeas, peonies and garden roses.

Serving as the bride's honor attendants were Caroline Fortson of Fayetteville and Claire Fortson of Little Rock, sisters of the bride, and Sarah Graham of St. Louis. Bridesmaids were Alex Talley of Little Rock, Melanie Tipps of Dallas, Danielle Summers of Chicago and Sadie Smith of Fayetteville. They wore ivory chiffon gowns with halter necklines and carried smaller versions of the bridal bouquet.

Also assisting the bride were Erin Childress of Little Rock, Sara Cathey of Memphis, Rachel Beck of Fayetteville, Kennedy Cable of Bentonville and Maggie Fohner of Nashville, Tenn.

Best man was Daniel Vogel of Little Rock, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Quade Smith of Bryant and Grayson McRae, Josh Jones, Austin Cole, Jackson Lowery and Ben Fortson, brother of the bride, all of Little Rock. Guests were seated by Neal McArthur of Pittsburg, Kan.; Cody Sanders of Memphis; and Will McSpadden and Mason Watson, both of Little Rock.

A reception, also at Goodwin Manor, followed the ceremony. Decorations included arrangements of hydrangeas and roses in gold urns, tables with runners of greenery, hydrangeas and roses and candles in gold votive holders.

The bride graduated summa cum laud from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville with a bachelor's degree in communication disorders. She has a master's degree in speech pathology from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and is a speech language therapist at Access Group Inc.

The groom has a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock where he was a member of the Little Rock Trojans baseball team. He is an operations team lead at Stryker.

The couple will live in Little Rock after a wedding trip to Great Exuma, Bahamas.
