Previous findings

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette has been examining the relationship between the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville athletic department and the nonprofit Razorback Foundation since late last year, previously reporting:

• An athletic department official pledged to help the foundation better promote its membership program for college students, "even if it's outside our job description."

• Officials considered changing the football ticket pricing structure in a way that would have shifted at least $4 million per year from the athletic department to the foundation.

• The foundation sought advice from an athletic department spokesman for how to respond to a media inquiry. The spokesman recommended that the foundation ignore most of the questions, and the foundation did not answer those questions.

• The UA waived $12.7 million in foundation cash commitments to capital projects.

• The foundation has free use of university trademarks for which others must pay to use. The arrangement is based on oral agreements and policy that outside attorneys find lacking.
