Pedestrian, two drivers dead after state traffic accidents

At least two people died in separate accidents on Arkansas roads Sunday. A third person has died from an accident earlier in the month.

Police said a 30-year-old man died after being hit by a pickup on an Arkansas highway in rainy weather Sunday night, police said.

The crash happened at about 9:15 p.m. on Arkansas 115 at Falcon Trail in Maynard in Randolph County, according to a preliminary report.

State police said a northbound 2005 Ford F-150 hit pedestrian Joshua Allen, 30, of Reyno as the vehicle traveled over a hill.

Allen suffered fatal injuries. The pickup driver was not hurt.

A teenager was killed and three other people hurt in a head-on crash Sunday afternoon in northeast Arkansas, authorities said.

State police said 18-year-old Emmalei Nicole Utley of Caraway lost control of her vehicle in rainy conditions around 1:30 p.m. on Arkansas 18 in Bowman.

Utley's eastbound 2005 Pontiac then traveled into westbound traffic and was hit head-on by a 2013 GMC, according to a preliminary report. Utley suffered fatal injuries as a result.

Also hurt were the GMC's driver, 46-year-old John Franklin Lyles of Lake City, and two passengers -- 43-year-old Sherrie Lynn Lyles of Lake City and a male minor.

A 78-year-old Arkansas woman died four days after being involved in a rollover wreck, authorities said.

The crash happened about 7:20 p.m. April 11 in the 1500 block of Danville Road in Hot Springs, according to a preliminary crash report from the Arkansas State Police.

Jacquelyn Kinney of Hot Springs Village was driving north when her 2012 Ford Escape crossed the centerline and ran off the left side of the road, police said.

The SUV overturned once before coming to a rest on its passenger side, the report states.

Kinney was transported to CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs, where she was pronounced dead April 15, according to police.

Conditions were clear and dry at the time of the wreck, the report said.
