Mandolin Orange will perform at 8 p.m. today at South on Main in Little Rock. The show is sold-out.

Mandolin Orange is a North Carolina duo consisting of Andrew Marlin and Emily Frantz. Marlin writes the songs and plays mandolin, guitar and banjo, and Frantz plays violin and guitar. Both sing and their sound has been described as a mix of folk, country, bluegrass, gospel and pop.

Formed in 2009 in Chapel Hill, Mandolin Orange released its first album, Quiet Little Room, a year later. They signed with home state major label Yep Roc Records in 2013, which released This Side of Jordan that year and followed up with Such Jubilee in 2015 and Blindfaller in 2016.

The duo's next album, Tides of a Teardrop, will be released Feb. 1 by Yep Roc.

John Neal will perform at 9 p.m. Friday. Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 the day of the show.

Neal, a Little Rock singer-songwriter, performs a blend of country, gospel and blues.

Rodney Block will perform at 10 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 the day of the show.

Weakness for Blondes will perform at 9 p.m. Friday at White Water Tavern in Little Rock. Admission is $7.

Ramblin' Jack Elliott will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday and 6 p.m. Sunday. Saturday's show is sold out; admission to the Sunday show is $30. Saturday's show will feature an opening set by Joe Sundell; Sunday's opener has not been confirmed.

Elliott, an 87-year-old native of Brooklyn, N.Y., began his career when he joined a rodeo, where he witnessed singing cowboys for the first time. He became a follower of Woody Guthrie and later taught Arlo Guthrie about Woody's life and times, as well as imparting wisdom and stories to the young Bob Dylan.

According to legend, he got his nickname not from a life of traveling, but for his lengthy stories between songs. He released his first album, Woody Guthrie's Blues, in 1955 and his latest and 16th, A Stranger Here, in 2009. His 1995 album, South Coast, won him a Grammy Award.
