A man died in an early morning fire Friday in Fort Smith, officials said.
The Fort Smith Fire Department responded shortly before 4 a.m. to a fire at a home at 2300 Birnie Ave., Fire Marshal Teddy Abbey said.
The resident, who was dead at the scene, was found in a bedroom area, according to authorities. Officials have not released the identity of the resident.
No firefighters were injured.
