Poplar Bluff, Mo. 63, Fayetteville 55

The Purple Bulldogs had a brief second-half lead but fell to the host team in the semifinals of the 32nd annual Poplar Bluff Showdown on Friday.

Fayetteville (8-3) trailed by 11 at halftime, but took a 39-38 lead late in the third quarter. But Poplar Bluff rallied for the win. The Purple'Dogs, who again played without the services of senior Collin Cooper because of an ankle sprain, will play the Jonesboro-Humbolt, Tenn., loser for third place today.

Isaiah Releford led the way with 26 points, while Tamaury Releford added 11 and Austin Garrett nine.

Western Grove 73, Kingston 42

Hunter Baker poured in a game-high 27 points to lead the Warriors to the nonconference win.

Western Grove (15-5) led only 14-12 after a quarter but pushed the lead to 33-21 at halftime and 51-28 after three quarters. Carsen Parker added 12 points and Gage Freeman 10 for the Warriors. Avery Weaver led Kingston with 20.

Clarendon 61, Farmington 58

Clarendon's Malik Cartwright turned the tide in a tie game with two slam dunks, and the Lions held on for the semifinal win in the First Arkansas Bail Bonds Tournament in Mountain Home.

The 6-foot-6 Cartwright went coast to coast for a slam for a 49-47 lead midway through the fourth, then later put back a missed shot with a dunk for a four-point lead.

Farmington (11-5) pulled within one point two more times, including at 59-58 on a Will Pridmore shot with 8.8 seconds remaining, but the Lions secured the win at the free-throw line.

Pridmore led all scorers with 23 points, while Brandon Bonner paced Clarendon (8-4) with 15 points.

Thursday's Games

Rogers Heritage 62, Green County, Okla. 39

Logan Clines scored 17 of his team-high 22 points to lead the War Eagles to a first-round win in the Enid (Okla.) Holiday Classic.

Heritage led 26-16 at halftime and cruised to the win. The War Eagles (5-5) will take on the host team in the semifinals on Friday night. Kyle Ingram added eight points, 12 rebounds, three blocked shots and three assists.

Girls

Norman (Okla.) North 57, Rogers Heritage 42

The War Eagles fell behind early and could recover, falling to undefeated Norman North in the Enid (Okla.) Holiday Classic semifinals.

Norman North (9-0) led 17-4 after one quarter and 28-12 at halftime. Heritage (4-7) made up ground in the second half, but not enough. The Lady War Eagles will play for third place today at 4 against Bishop McGuiness.

Quiara Jones led Heritage with 13 points, while Maddie Lynge added 10.

Bentonville High 69, St. Louis T&L 9

Kadie Kultgen scored all of her team-high 15 points in the second quarter as Bentonville had no problems posting its second win in as many days at the Mercy Lady Cardinal Classic in Webb City, Mo.

None of the Lady Tigers' starters played after the first quarter as Bentonville (10-2) jumped out to a 21-0 lead and was never threatened. Alyssa Baker was the only other Lady Tiger in double figures with 11.

Alyssa Baker added 11 for the Lady Tigers, who will play the host team at 1:30 p.m. today.

Farmington 62, Highland 51

Farmington regrouped after losing a double-digit lead, and the Lady Cardinals went on to defeat Highland and advance to the consolation final of the First Arkansas Bail Bonds Tournament in Mountain Home.

Farmington (11-2) led an 11-point early in the second quarter, but Highland pulled within 28-24 at halftime and took a 29-28 lead in the third quarter. The Lady Cardinals then scored nine unanswered points for a 39-31 cushion after a Makenna Vanzant 3-pointer, but Highland made it a 39-37 game after three quarters before Farmington opened the fourth quarter with eight straight points.

Alexis Roach led Farmington with 13 points, followed by Vanzant with 11 and Trinity Johnson with 10. Briley Pena had 25 for Highland, including 11 in the fourth quarter.

Charleston 65, Two Rivers 40

Charleston jumped out to 16-6 lead after one quarter and cruised to a semifinal victory over Two Rivers in the Hoops for Hunger Tournament in Russellville.

Alexis Grandison had 14 points while Allie Green and Rylee Merechka each added 11 for Charleston (15-0), which led 38-21 at halftime and 52-27 after three quarters.

Charleston will play again at 6 p.m. today against host Russellville, a 66-49 winner over Pottsville in the other semifinal.

Van Buren 60, Sapulpa (Okla.) JV 18

The Lady Pointers rolled to a blowout win against the Sapulpa junior varsity on Friday.

Rylee Ryan scored 17 for Van Buren (7-5). Emmalee Greene scored 16 and Kayleigh Evans added 11.

Huntsville 44, Green Forest 28

Josie Sisk scored 19 points to lead the Lady Eagles past Green Forest on Friday in the Berryville Tournament.

Huntsville (5-10) dominated the second and third quarters and rolled to the double-digit win.

On Thursday, Huntsville lost to Mountain View 63-45. Kara Drewyor scored 12 for Huntsville, Sisk and Dezeray Sulffridge scored 10 each.
