Police: Little Rock teen found unconscious in school bathroom; fellow student provides spray to counteract overdose

The Little Rock Fire Department administered an anti-opioid medication Monday after a 16-year-old was found unconscious in a Little Rock Central High School restroom, according to a police report.

The report states a student found the teen lying on the floor in a restroom. An assistant principal told authorities the 16-year-old "is a heroin user" and may have overdosed, according to the report.

A Little Rock Fire Department employee administered Narcan, a nasal spray that counteracts the effects of an opioid overdose, after a dose was provided by a student, police said.

Police said the 16-year-old was alert and conscious before being taken to Arkansas Children's Hospital.
