Highland Park quarterback John Stephen Jones (9) threw for more than 500 yards and led Highland Park to a come-from-behind victory over Manvel in the Texas Class 5A Division I state championship game Friday night.

Quarterback John Stephen Jones, who has an Arkansas offer, recalled leading Dallas Highland Park to dramatic state championship victory over Manvel and gave an update on his recruitment on Recruiting Thursday.

Some observers have called the 53-49 win over Manvel the greatest high school game they've ever seen.

Jones, 5-10 1/2, 185 pounds, 4.6 seconds in the 40-yard dash, completed 37 of 58 passes for 564 yards and 4 touchdowns and became the first Texas high school quarterback to pass for more than 500 yards in a state title game. He has offers from Arkansas, SMU, Texas Tech and others.

He talked about the emotional meeting with his father, former Arkansas linebacker Stephen Jones on the field after winning the second straight state championship.
